Byrd Harrier 2 Lightweight Lockback Knife Black FRN (3.36" Satin) BY01PBK2

Sale
Original price $59.99
Current price $45.00

Tracing its history back to the very first byrd model, the Harrier 2 is a practical everyday-carry cutting tool in the perfect “in-between” size. Now this utilitarian design is available in a lightweight version featuring injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handles with a non-slip texture.

Its 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade is full-flat ground for optimal edge geometry and has a textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp. The handle’s nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners provide structural strength for the knife’s sturdy back lock mechanism and anchor a four-position clip that offers all possible carry options. Best of all, it is over 20-percent lighter than its G-10-handled counterpart.

Not fond of

I'm sorry to say, I'm not fond of this knife. I bought it for the price telling myself it was a good in-between comparing size and weight and price, looking for a knife I could carry at work without having to worry about it. I knew it was not high-end and everything, but still am disappointed by it. That Byrd 8Cr13MoV needs to be sharpened much more often than I thought, even when just cutting a couple of pieces of cardboard here and there during the week. And the 4 position clip, well I installed the clip near the blade rotation, and the original hardware is a little bit too long to fit those 2 positions, the tip of the screws actually presses against the blade when fully inserted. Scratching it and preventing it to be centered. I mean.... Really!?!? So it's not a 4 position clip knife, and can't believe I have to choose between loose clip or crushed blade if I prefer my clip up front.
Wanting to spend less is one thing, but there are other options on the market for the price, which are in my opinion better than this product.
